I have been looking forward to today for so long!! I had plans to spend the day with my fabulous mother!!
I started the day like an other day, the only difference was that I didn’t have to put on work clothes – yeah!!
Breakfast this morning was some scrambled eggs and a piece of toast with butter. I wasn’t that hungry for some reason so a small breakfast was just what I needed.
I got the kids to school and then it was off to Maryland to spend the morning at the spa!! My mom had booked appointments for us to get pedicures and facials. This was my first time getting a facial and I was really looking forward to it!
Lets just say that if you have never had a facial before, I highly recommend you get one. It was awesome – so relaxing and my skin looks amazing!! The pedicure was definitely needed too – especially after a long winter of boots and fleecy socks. I am all ready for spring and open toed shoes with my newly painted toes!
After the spa, my mom and I enjoyed lunch at Chili’s before a little shopping.
We both got the soup and salad combo for lunch (which came with chips and salsa to start). I ordered the Chicken Enchilada soup, it was very tasty (and a little spicy).
We spent the remainder of the afternoon shopping! I managed to get a dress and some shoes for my baby brother’s wedding in May (it’s quickly approaching). It was the first dress I tried on and I loved it! It’s a really soft yellow and should be perfect for May weather.
I made a light dinner for myself tonight because I had planned a strength training workout this evening and didn’t want anything to heavy sitting in my stomach.
I made the same buffalo chicken sandwich I made for lunch yesterday and paired it with some sliced strawberries.
Tonight’s workout was Shoulders & Triceps strength training. For each of the exercises below, I completed 4 sets of 8-12 repetitions.
Shoulders & Triceps:
- Superset #1
- Overhead Press w/ Dumbbells
- Front Raises w/ Dumbbells
- Superset #2
- Upright Rows w/ Pulley
- Side Raises w/ Dumbbells
- Superset #3
- Cable Pulldowns w/ Rope Attachment
- Dumbbell Kickbacks
- Superset #4
- Overhead Triceps Press
- Dips (using a bench)
It was a great workout and I was done in 40 minutes! I knew I would need something else to eat tonight so I sipped a Mochaccino protein shake after my workout.
Today was such a great day with my Mom, I’m sad it’s over. We are hoping to do a day like this every year after tax season is over!
Question: What’s your favorite spa treatment?

Awwww it sounds like you had a fantastic spa date!
My favorite treatment is definitely a facial. You’re right, your skin looks and feels so good afterwards!
I love the after facial creams they use…so light and fresh!
